Remember that the plane is upside down. This is a carbon layup on the overhead. This is an attempt to add some strength to the door area and hopefully prevent most of the door shape change that happens when the engine is hung. I will also add a carbon fiber channel like the rear hoop to provide a bit more cockpit integrity in case of a rollover.
