Aligning the main gear took a lot longer than expected. But, as Brett said, "The gear alignment has the virtue of being done!"
The I-beam is laid along the surface of the wheel. With the laser level, we painted a line down the center of the fuselage. We were then able to measure from the center (laser) line to the edge of the I-beam.
To accomplish this task, we had to call a life-line. Keith had access to a scientific calculator and was able to make sense of the trig problem. At a distance of 100 inches, a 1/4 to 1/2 degree toe-in will result in a 1/2" - 3/4" change on each side.
