The problem was to come up with a 'vacuum bag'-like solution that would make the mold a very close copy. We worked out an approach that worked great.

First the carbon was wet out and we waited for the epoxy to start to set up. We covered the gear door with plastic wrap.

We placed the carbon layup over the plastic wrap and stippled to remove bubbles. We then covered the layup with another layer of plastic wrap.

AND HERE'S THE TRICK - A trash bag of water was placed over the layup. You could use really warm water to speed up the process and improve the flow.
