The cowling flange has been removed, and the cowling is installed with clecos. We made sure that the fuselage is still level.
Here we've positioned the template for the wing cutout area. Again, the Black & Decker laser level... The vertical laser line marks the aft edge of the wing. The horizontal laser line allows us to position the "level line" on the template. The paper is paint mask, and we discovered that a permanent marker pushed slowly over this paper will allow the ink to bleed through onto the cowling. We've marked the cutout area on the cowling, but we're going to check it against the wing.
You may notice the clecos on the fuselage. We have installed three clecos on each cowling at the fuselage, and these will ensure the cowling location while we're building. |
