With the cowling now anchored in place with clecos, we did another test of the hinge pin; and it did not move smoothly. It was binding at the aft section. We added various washers behind the hinge until we had smooth movement on the hinge pin.

The washers are held in pace with mylar tape, which adds almost no thickness, and it holds well. This mylar tape was manufactured by Manco. I'm guessing that normal Scotch transparent tape might have worked, but the mylar tape was excellent.
