The upper half of the hinge is installed with structural epoxy. The hinge pin slides easily. We use the vice grips to push and pull the hinge pin until later when we install a hinge pin keeper.

We're holding the upper half of the hinge in place with screws to ensure proper spacing until the epoxy cures. Note the extra-thick layer of structural on the aft section of the hinge. This is where the washers are installed to create an alignment which will allow the hinge pin to glide smoothly.

After the epoxy cures, we'll replace the screws with pop rivets.
