We take the cowling off. We put the cowling on.

The process is very awkward. Although the hinge pins are smooth to install and release, the hinges halves don't want to separate. After more careful inspection, we realize that we didn't cut the flange short enough. We use power tools to remove excess flange from between the hinge knuckles. We also clean out some structural epoxy that might be causing a problem.
