Jerry is hardly ever satisfied with bare metal. He created a pattern using a Roloc disc covered with Scotchbrite pad material.

The trusty laser level provided a horizontal reference. It's mounted on an adjustable camera tripod, so it was easy to lower for each new line in the pattern.
