The rudder cable installation is complete!
A lot has happened since our last post: A trip to Montreal (via Watkins Glen, where we saw way cool vintage auto racing memorabilia, and enjoyed a hike along the awesome Glen gorge), a visit from our niece and her family, some wine tasting, and a 4th of July party in Springfield....   Now, back to reality!
We've been dreading this the last piece of the rudder cable installation, and it took several hours, but it worked out well. We found that the nylaflow tube was quite curved. We gently heated it with a heat gun, holding it straight with the rudder cable, until it relaxed into a straight line. We also found that we needed to bend the attach tab slightly to force a straight line from the control tube aft; and Jerry did this with the adjustable pliers. |
