We've placed an order for engine mount bolts and also for fuel system plumbing parts. While we wait for those to arrive, we continue work on the rudders and canoes.
Here we're preparing to close in the bottom of the rudder. We elected to use balsa wood for the base, as it's light in weight and easily shaped. We applied a layer of shmooey over the surface, using West Systems with microlight fill. This will be easy to sand.
The winglet/canoe seams are looking good. At this point, we're close enough that we can use autobody Icing... many thin layers of Icing. The good news is that Icing has a very short cure time. Working with Icing is about the closest you can get to instant gratification on a Velocity build. |
