The purpose of this photo is to show the wood clamp that we're using to help with installation of the hose ends.
The braided fuel line consists of an inner Teflon tube surrounded by a protective braided steel mesh.
The brass sleeve of the hose end isn't so difficult to push over the inner tube. However, installing the nipple into that tube can be difficult. The wood clamp allows us to apply straight line pressure when pushing the hose onto the nipple fitting. The nut which holds the assembly together is sitting on top of the wood clamp.
We've had good success on using the Dremmel cutoff disk to cut through the metal braid, and then a sharp utility knife to cut through the inner tube. |
