The turning vane installed. We've decided that the single layer of carbon fiber is too flimsy, and we'll be adding more layers until it feels sturdy enough. As the curve is not consistent across the width of the plenum, we'll let the epoxy cure for a few hours, and install it into the air channel to set the shape.
After we're satisfied that the vane structure is sufficiently sturdy, we'll mount it permanently enough to hold during flight test; and there we'll find out whether this approach provides enough cooling for the problematic cylinders. |
