We are installing piano hinge retainers for the doghouse-to-canard junction, replacing the screws which are recommended in the builder's manual. We believe that the hinge retainers will hold the doghouse more securely, that they will make removal of the doghouse simple and quick; and, of course, that the plane will look better. We are far from the first to make this change.

This is the beginning of the installation. Here we're checking that the flange has been trimmed in a fairly straight line.
