We completely removed our fiberglass panel and sent it to Advanced Flight Systems for a template. It was just easier. This meant that we destroyed the flanges which mount the panel to the fuselage.
We were ready to reinstall, but first we needed to make cutouts in the copilot side throttle quadrant for some electronics and the PTT switch.
Jerry used an air saw and a very small Dremel cutoff tool to make the cutouts. (The screw holes for attaching the metal panel to our fiberglass panel were made by AFS. These are the three small holes on the throttle quadrant.)
On the right, we've done a dry fit to make sure clearances are good. |
