One of the hinge keepers installed on the carbon hinge pin. This is half of the keeper assembly; and it threads into a bushing which will be installed on the cowling. The bushing half of the assembly is still in development.

Leading Edge Composites does sell hinge pins with keepers; however, Jerry has decided to make his own. He will also be making these for our aluminum hinges.

He is finding great satisfaction in overcoming the challenges of drilling the set screws. The silver solder (silver braze, to be precise) is very cool stuff; and it forms an extremely strong bond. We are using a 65% silver solder.
