Meanwhile, Jerry has been working on a modification for the control stick pivot assembly. Lots of builders are disappointed by the "slop" in the handling of the control surfaces in the cockpit. Since the control stick pivot is comprised of two tubes held together by a bolt, the bolt holes tend to enlarge, or "wallow out" with use.
This is the beginning of a solution to remove slack from the control stick pivot assembly, and to make that solution durable.
So far, we have one reinforcement disk milled to fit the control stick. It will need a bracket on the other side. The second disk, on the left, will be milled to fit the aileron torque tube. |
