Here is the rudder horn in the well at the base of the winglet. Will we ever be finished grinding in these wells? When we mounted the bolt on the end of the rudder horn, we found new problem areas. We moved the plane around to give us access to one the wing end, then the other, and we ground out new spots in the wells. We bent one of the rudder arms slightly to provide more clearance.
We also spent time deciphering the instructions for the rudder control between the firewall and the wing root. Holding all of the parts in place, we did a sort of dry run to figure out how the assembly will go together.
Small progress is better than no progress. |
