The engine is back on the firewall, and we're working on the engine cooling plenum. Our engine ran on a different Velocity, and we need to adapt the existing plenum to work on our fuselage.
In this view you can see our NACA ducts on the top of the fuselage. We elected to go with NACA ducts that are non-standard. (See picture 41)
A bit of history: � I may be the only person who didn't realize that the NACA inlet was developed in 1945 at Langley VA. It is quite likely that one of the women 'computers' from Hidden Figures worked on the calculations for the development of this now-common feature. � I am humbled and awed. |
