Several hours later, we were still working to get the nose gear retract assembly adjusted. We found that inflating the tire to the proper pressure made a difference: With the tire under-inflated, it was narrow but larger in circumference.

After many adjustments, we were close. The last piece of the puzzle fell into place after we 'leveled' the assembly; that is, we put a level across the top and adjusted the assembly to it. Who would have thought that a 3 shift would have made such a difference?

After the assembly was level, we made a final adjustment to the length of the actuating linkages (the adjustable pieces that attach to the gear door swing arms) to change the timing of the gear door closing.

Still to do: We need to install the skinny springs that hold the retract assembly in place while the gear doors are open.
