The doghouse is back in place. Here you can see the standoffs for the top hinge (these are the cured white globs). We'll be packing new structural epoxy in between the standoffs, and then we'll rotate the hinge up to meet it.
We've lubricated the hinge knuckles with Vaseline. In addition, we slid a strip of plastic behind the hinge, between the doghouse and the flange; and this strip should cover and protect the hinge knuckles. The plastic is temporarily held in place with short strips of green tape.
Meanwhile, we have the previous pop rivet holes filled (small white circles). The location of these holes is marked on the strip of green tape above the hinge. We want to put the final pop rivets into good fiberglass and avoid the filled areas. |
