This photo was taken many days later, and many adjustments later - the bushing in the rear, the over-center linkage in the front - as the builder's manual suggested. We also sanded the gear door pockets to allow the main gear legs to dock into the pockets without friction.

The landing gear now retracts smoothly, and they come down easily when the gear dump valve is engaged. The logic and wiring have all been tested (and tested, and tested...!). This photo of our gear indicator shows that the nose gear and main gear are down and locked. Sweet!!!

Finally... oddly... this makes me feel like we have an airplane. Of course, if we had sensibly built a fixed-gear plane, we would have been time and money ahead. Oh... and we wouldn't need those two green lights in order to feel good about landing.
