The instrument panel stand from the "back". The base is plywood. The support blocks are 2"x4" and the upright legs are 1"x1". We used brass inserts in the panel attach points. We elected to attach the upright legs with bolts so that the assembly can be configured to lie flat for efficient storage. The function of the center block is to retain the panel center, as it wants to swing forward.

We added felt pads to protect our finished panel surface.

We had an alignment issue with the left upright - thus lots of marking. The bottom hole on that side was completely wrong, and we opened it up and filled it with shmooey before drilling it for the brass insert.
