This end of the brace is mounted on the canard flange. Jerry created the treaded insert, but wanted the screw location to be adjustable on a small scale. He cut a slot on either side of the tube (somewhat visible under the epoxy, in the left photo); and this solution allowed the insert to 'float.'

After the mounting point was established on the flange, we mounted and leveled the brace. We then set the insert in place with structural epoxy. Once that cured, we added more structural... inside and out.
