We used structural to create a mounting pad for the brace on the cockpit side of the canard flange. We masked off the end of the tube with clear tape, then cut a small hole in the tape for the screw. We carefully slid the brace into place over the structural shmooey, and inserted the screw. The mounting pad positively locates the brace in three dimensions.
