OK - so I am just like most builders (or programmers, or maybe most people for that matter). I don't like doing documentation. It's been a few months since I last reported progress. Here is a the 'C' hinge I made for the nose hatch cover.
What else has been going on, you ask?
I have helped rebuild N44VF's damaged wing and then learned to fill and sand and fill and sand and ... I have learned to paint, but not well. I have learned to wet sand and buff (because of the lack of paint skill). Right now, we have both wings, the canard, elevators and ailerons painted.
I have built a new adjustable sparrow stainer for VF that we will test to see if there is an advantage to having the option. Maybe we can come up with standard settings to help the elevator with forward and rearward CG's.
We have been working on the VF fuselage and new panel. To see more details about all of the work on VF you will have to go to www.N44VF.velocityxl.com
I've been helping Bob (N95DY) with engine install. That has been a very long road because the Vesta 'Firewall Back' isn't even close to being a package ready to hook up and go. Very unfortunate. As they say in the south, 'Caveat Emptor ya'll'.
I have also been trying to help Bob with his electrical stuff. He has a Wayne Lanza (Composite Designs) breaker panel and overhead switch panel. Very well done solution and just plug and play if used as designed. Bob has a very expanded dual bus/dual battery/dual alternator solution which requires expanding the functionality of the panel by adding more breakers, reassigning existing switches and adding more switches. This is not trival, but I think we are just about done with it. |
