Closing out the canoe on the pilot side.

The left photo shows the foam insert, shaped and ready to install. We needed to make sure that it didn't distort the canoe side, and that it fills the gap. The little duct tape handle allowed us to insert it and remove it easily.

The photos are out of order... on the far right, we have inserted the foam and painted it with epoxy.

The center photo shows the first layer of shmooey. We made the shmooey fairly soft so that it would flow and be somewhat self-leveling; and this worked well.

You can also see on the side of the canoe that we've begun the process of filling and sanding the canoe/winglet joint.  ... and filling ... and sanding ... and filling ... and sanding ...
