This is a bit of a leap, but suffice it to say, there was much fitting and sanding, more fitting and more sanding and finally we are putting on the Jeffco. In this view you can clearly see the extra fuel drain holes on the wheel well compartment we created. Nearly forgot to drill those. I would have made a nice empty cell if I had forgotten.
If you look along the fuselage, you will notice that we did not build the side storage. Therefore we made a lip for the strake top. This also require a little different process installing the Uni layup that runs from the carbon beam to the forward bulkhead. Let me say that, although this will add several gallons to the fuel capacity, it is a LOT MORE work. Of course the first time I need that fuel, it won't seem like wasted effort. |
